About

A life in music.

María Luz Vella is an Argentine violinist specializing in classical and tango music. Her training spans the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón, the Orquesta Escuela Emilio Balcarce, the Conservatorio Superior Manuel de Falla and, currently, Lynn University in Boca Raton, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance.

Her experience moves between solo, orchestral, chamber and tango performance. She has performed across Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Chile, the United States and Europe, combining rigorous classical training with a strong connection to Argentine musical tradition.

Selected milestones

A selection of key moments from María Luz’s artistic development, solo work, orchestral experience and international performance history.

2015–16

Concertmaster of Orquesta Escuela de los Andes and member of the Academic Symphony Orchestra in San Martín de los Andes.

2017–18

Member of Patagonia Symphony Orchestra and Bariloche Youth Camerata, with an internship at Río Negro Philharmonic Orchestra.

2019

Admitted to the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón; selected for the Ibero-American Youth Orchestra, the Festival Iguazú en Concierto as a soloist, and orchestral projects including SODRE in Uruguay.

2020

Third Prize at the International Orchestra Auditions Awards; participated in Festival de Música de Cóbano and UCR Strings in Costa Rica.

2021

Performed Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64 as soloist with Camerata El Rosedal; joined Buenos Aires Virtuosi, CAMUBA and Camerata Nueva Argentina.

2022–23

Two-year tango violin program with Orquesta Escuela Emilio Balcarce; chamber music, opera and orchestral appearances in Buenos Aires, plus FEMUSC in Brazil and international chamber-music festival work in Bariloche.

2024

Festival Portillo in Chile with masterclasses from members of the American String Quartet; continued orchestral work and began Bachelor of Music studies at Lynn University.

2025–26

European tango touring with Romántica Milonguera and continued performance activity in South Florida through Lynn University and independent projects.
